Sorenson, an Orange County native, is a merchandiser at Hobie Surf Shop in Laguna Beach. She describes herself as a huge fan of the beach and knows that her current job is the exact right one for her. “I’m an ambassador of beach apparel. When I’m not in a bikini, I find fashion as a way to express my boho-inspired mind.”

PrintsRich prints, paired with solid-colored items, add excitement to any summer wardrobe. Floral prints are especially popular for women. “One of the most in-demand clothing items lately has been flared pattern pants,” Sorenson said. “They are loose, sometimes fitting, comfortable and fun.” For men, floral and Aztec print shirts are a big hit this season.

The White BlouseThe white blouse is a wardrobe essential. Whether you’re wearing a tailored shirt to the office or a casual blouse for a day of fun, white will brighten your summer style. “The white shirt shown in the photo was taken from one of my favorite collections called Amuse Society,” Sorenson said. “It is amazing how popular it has become, definitely one of our best sellers.” This blouse can be teamed with jeans for the evening or a pair of cut-offs for the beach.

Bikini TopsA big part of making the summer season special is finding the right bikini top, so Sorenson described two of her favorites. “The high-neck style has been a huge trend in bathing suits, so many brands have this type of style bikini top,” said Sorenson. “When O’Neill came out with one I had to snatch it. I’m so in love with it and get so many compliments when I wear it. Also, another super popular bikini top is part of the Alana Blanchard Ripcurl collection, again with the floral print.”

Funky SocksSocks with exuberant stripes, patterns and prints give men a chance to be daring with their wardrobe. Loud socks can be worn on summer evenings with khaki pants or anytime with athletic wear. There are no rules when it comes to wearing creative socks with the right shoes. Anything goes. Sorenson said Stance socks are one of the best-selling men’s accessories at Hobie Surf Shop.

Stylish TowelsRelaxing on a pretty towel will definitely enhance your summer experience. “A huge trend is Sand Cloud,” said Sorenson. “It is a brand that carries a really nice towel. They come in all different colors and styles and even have a pillow on top. They are cute and comfortable to lie on.”
