Hobie Shop :: Laguna Beach Hospitality Night at Hobie!!

It’s one of our favorite days of the year!!!! Laguna Beach Hospitality Night is FINALLY here again!!

Can't wait!!!!!!!

Can’t wait!!!!!!!

Hobie Surf Shops have roots that tie directly to the Laguna Beach community. It’s more than just a place where one of our shops is located. For us, it is where our lineage is the deepest. Laguna is home to the house where our founding Father, Hobie Alter, crafted his very first surfboards in a front yard on PCH. Laguna Beach and it’s residents are in the soul of everything we do.

It was with our ties to the Community in mind that we partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach 6 years ago to institute a “Wish List Kids” program. Wish List Kids are children hand selected by the LB B&G Club to receive gifts during the holidays to make their season a little brighter! We are sponsoring 30 children this year!! The program is so popular that our giving angels have been coming in for weeks asking when they can pick a name and start shopping!! Giving to our Wish List Kids is open to all our loyal Hobie customers, and new friends alike. Head in to the Laguna shop today and any one of our staff members can fill you in on all the details you need to provide a bright holiday for a WL Kid.

Two years ago, based off the reception our WL program received, we decided to up our commitment to the Club by turning our town’s Hospitality Night (a Laguna tradition where Forest Ave is shut down for Winterfest type activites, including the arrival of Santa!) into a big fundraiser benefiting all the children who call the B&G Club home! We host everything on the floor of our shop from a Face Painting booth, and spinning Wheel ‘O Prizes, to a brand new ‘Fill Your Bag’ candy filled bar. Also, a HUGE raffle with donations from almost every brand we carry, a percentage of sales donation, and a massive in store concert!  All these events last year together raised a staggering $2000!!!! We are looking to blow that number out this year!! So come ready to spin, snack, and leave with a tiger painted on your face, because this night is ALL for some very fantastic kids.

The shop will get all kinds of rowdy to the music of Kenny Garcia and friends around 6pm. Later in the evening special guest Nick Hernandaz of Common Sense will take the stage. Our own beloved owner, Mark Christy, even took the stage Last year to sing along to the Rolling Stones classic “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”. It is guaranteed to be an incredible night chock full of goodtimes, and a BIG way for you to support the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach!! Don’t miss out, we love seeing you!!
