Hobie History: Throwback Thursday: 1972-75ish Phil Edwards.

Stunner.

Throwback Thursday… Circa 1972-75ish 8’8″x21 1/2″ Phil Edwards Board #1337. 3 Clear heart redwood stringers and a gold foiled Hobie logo. True classic, True perfection. Again, just another gem from the racks in the warehouse.. I like to call these “The stuff I get to touch at work”.

  1. Like a kid in a candy store!!!

I have a ten foot, triple stringer Phil that is a sweet board! I have another Phil shaped nine footer that carried me through my skinnier years and now the ten takes care of my larger self!

Thanks Tracy we love seeing all the treasures….

    Aloha,
    Mike

  2. Great shot. And love the exceedingly rare Joyce Hoffman Model lurking in the background. Wait’ll I bring in the candy apple red ’63 Hobie DP elephant gun. Looks like the Hobie Hawaii guns of the era, but just a bit shorter (under 10′) and ready to charge the long gone, but not forgotten right from the point.
